With a whole range of measures, such as displaying the operational status and the option to add an emergency switching off button, our test set ensures that the risks involved in protection testing are kept to a minimum.
Wide range of versatile applications
From high-burden electromechanical relays to fully digital IEC 61850 IEDs, not only is the CMC 500 ideal for testing protection relays, but it is also perfect for functional tests on other assets such as current transformers or circuit breakers. The CMC 500 offers the necessary flexibility and makes your day-to-day testing easier with up to seven voltages and ten currents. During commissioning, for example, currents of up to 450A can be applied to verify the entire signal path from the primary side down to the relay terminals. The CMC 500 can also be used as a multi-functional measuring instrument for troubleshooting.
The CMC 500 is both powerful and precise, yet also lightweight and compact. Thanks to numerous software options and a wide range of accessories, it covers numerous requirements and also enables, among other things, the testing of travelling wave protection relays and relays with low-level inputs.
CMC 500 Software Concept
Our software concept for controlling the CMC 500 offers a unique option for carrying out protection testing based on relay settings (parameter-based testing) as well as based on the correct functioning of the entire protection system by simulating realistic network events (system-based testing). This combination of a bottom-up and a top-down approach to protection testing optimizes the depth and efficiency of the testing.
